MOCRA: Sunday, 16 September 2007

A new exhibition opens this Sunday, September 16, at Saint Louis University's Museum of Contemporary Religious Art (MOCRA). "The Celluloid Bible: Marketing Films Inspired by Scripture" features over 50 vintage film posters dating from 1898 to 2004. The exhibition begins with two free events this Sunday afternoon, September 16.
  • At 2 p.m., collector Rev. Michael Morris, O.P. will lecture on "Moving Pictures: The Bible and Beyond"
  • The lecture is followed by a free public reception from 3 - 5 p.m.
The exhibition continues through December 9, 2007. Regular museum hours are Tuesday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Exhibition admission is free, with a suggested donation of $5/adults, $1/students and children. MOCRA is located at 3700 West Pine Mall on the campus of Saint Louis University.

TWO CELLULOID BIBLE CLASSICS AT THE TIVOLI
In conjunction with "The Celluloid Bible," MOCRA will be showing two classic biblical epics at the Tivoli Theatre (6350 Delmar in the University City Loop). Mark your calendar now for:
  • October 7, 12:45 p.m.: The Ten Commandments
  • November 4, 12:45 p.m.: Ben-Hur
