ART SAINT LOUIS presents “FIBER FOCUS 2007”

Art Saint Louis presents “Fiber Focus 2007” on view in the Gallery September 10 through October 18, 2007.

• Friday, September 14, 2007, 6-9 p.m.: Opening reception for "Fiber Focus 2007" at Art Saint Louis. Join juror Jane Sauer and our featured artists for this FREE reception and awards presentation . Wine by Mary Michelle Winery, Carrollton, IL.
• Saturday, September 15, 9:30 a.m.: Free Juror's Gallery Talk by Jane Sauer at Art Saint Louis.
• Sunday, September 16, 10 a.m.-12 noon: Free panel discussion, "Textiles in the Mainstream," led by Jane Sauer. Panel to include collectors, artists & others involved in the world of contemporary fiber art. Held at The Saint Louis Art Museum Auditorium.
  

“Fiber Focus 2007” is a biennial juried exhibit open to contemporary fiber artists residing n Missouri & our 8 bordering states. This year's exhibit was juried by forme St. Louisan Jane Sauer, an internationally exhibited and collected sculptor based in Santa Fe, New Mexico. A studio artist for over 34 years, Sauer is the owner & director of Jane Sauer Gallery.

For this year’s exhibit, 127 artists submitted 325 artworks for the juror’s consideration. From those entries, Jane Sauer selected 47 works by 43 artists for exhibition. A list of the artists & highlights from the exhibit can be viewed at www.artstlouis.net

Art Saint Louis is free & open to the public Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Closed Sundays & holidays.

Art Saint Louis is located in the heart of downtown St. Louis at 917 Locust Street (on Locust between 9th and 10th Streets). We are easily accessible by public transportation, with a MetroBus stop on our block (Locust at 10th) and two MetroLink stations within walking distance: 8th & Pine and 6th & Washington. There are also plenty of parking meters, lots & garages, as well as places to park/lock bicycles.
