Mysteries Contained: Contemporary Sculptural Basketry
Curated by Kate Anderson
Please join us at Craft Alliance this Friday night, September 14, from 6-8Pm for the opening of Mysteries Contained: Contemporary Sculptural Basketry.
This exhibit features 13 artists who use non-traditional and traditional materials to create sculptural forms in basketry.
As Anderson says, "Contemporary basketry is young, vibrant, experimental, and innovative. Forgoing function in favor of content has radically changed how works are both created and considered. For viewers, contemporary basketry is an artistic frontier, exciting to view and accessible to collect."
Free exhibition catalog available. Please join us for a curator's talk on Saturday, September 15, 2:30pm at Craft Alliance.
Opening concurrently, local fiber artist Edna J. Patterson-Petty in the David and Jacqueline Charak Gallery.
