Northwest Coffee Company: Friday, 6 September 2013

Art Opening "365 Days With Dad" paintings by Cbabi Bayoc Friday, September 6th 6:30 to 8:30 pm (artist talk at 7:30)

This exhibit represents a step in Cbabi Bayoc’s life mission, “Preserving the image of the responsible and present black father, and showing the beauty in black faces to all faces.”

Cbabi Bayoc created a portrait nearly every day since January 1, 2012 of a father interacting with his kid. The resulting project, titled ‘365 Days with Dad,’ goes beyond showing fathers who go through the motions of parenthood, by depicting engaging and teachable moments.

Cbabi Bayoc is an acronym for Creative Black Artist Battling Ignorance and Blessed African Youth of Creativity. Through his artwork, he is able to show the beauty in black faces to all faces.
Bayoc began this project as a means of stability, but over the course of a year it morphed into a means of preserving memories and encouraging parents to be their best selves when with their kids. It has become his life mission: Preserving the image of the responsible and present black father.
