"[context]Texture” is presented in the Art Saint Louis Main Gallery August 13-October 4, 2012. Concurrent exhibit, “Waiting,” presented in the Art Saint Louis North Gallery.
FREE Opening reception: Saturday, August 12, 2011, 6-8 p.m. (gallery is closed during the day on August 11). Complimentary beverages & appetizers will be available at the reception and are generously provided by our featured artists.
"[context]Texture” was juried by Artists Joe Chesla, Professor of Design & Sculpture, St. Louis Community College, Meramec; and Jo Stealey, Professor, University of Missouri-Columbia.
Artworks featured in this exhibit explore texture, wherein the context of the work is about texture in some way, i.e. physically, conceptually, emotionally, or any other interpretation. With 58 works in this exhibition, the interpretations of this theme are vast & interesting.
108 artists submitted 208 artworks in all media for our jurors’ consideration from which they selected 58 artworks by 44 artists for the exhibit. Media featured in the exhibit includes drawing, collage, digital art, encaustic, fiber art, glass, handmade paper, mixed media, painting, pastel, photography (analog & digital), printmaking, sculpture, and more.

Art Saint Louis is located at 555 Washington Avenue, #150, in downtown St. Louis, MO. The Gallery is on Washington Avenue between 6th Street and Broadway. We’re 1 block East of the America’s Center or 1 block South of the Edward Jones Dome.
