Where the Pavement Ends: A Photography Exhibition by Alecia Hoyt

Opening Reception (coinciding with the Maplewood ArtsWalk): April 8, 2011 6-10 p.m.
Exhibition Dates: April 8, 2011 to May 6, 2011

Studio Altius Photography Studio and Event Space has just opened their doors at their new location on Big Bend Boulevard and would like to extend an invitation to their premier photographic exhibition by photographer Alecia Hoyt. Where the Pavement Ends highlights the photographic documentation of Alecia’s 5-month road trip across the southern and western United States in 2009. Alecia purchased and rehabbed a vintage ‘canned ham’ style trailer, packed up the dogs and cameras, and drove from Missouri to Washington state by way of the Grand Canyon, Sequoia National Forest, and California Wine Country. Following back roads and avoiding highways, Alecia traveled alone, blogging the journey as she went. She focused her photographic efforts on every American’s shared national heritage exploring the expansive network of National and State Parks, Forests, and Lands. You can read all about her adventures at www.roadtripphotographer.com, where you will find tips on road tripping, traveling with dogs, and traveling alone as a female.

The opening reception coincides with the Maplewood ArtsWalk and Harp Attack. It is free and open to the public. For those who cannot make it to the opening reception, please feel free to call to set up a time to view the exhibition.

Parking for the event is available in the PNC Bank lot on Folk Avenue (at Big Bend and Folk Avenue) as well as street parking on Folk Avenue.
