Dutch painter Michael Berkhemer's primary interest is color. One of his inspirations for his prints... is natural effects on architecture: niches in walls, shafts of sunlight through a window, the rhythm of oblique lines radiating from static points on flat horizons. The richness of his prints is derived not from a single color choice, but from layers of different colors often printed wet on wet.
