Los Caminos: Friday, 18 March 2011
Do the Right Thing: Peter Seay, Kevin McCoy and Friends
March 18 – April 16, 2011
Opening Reception: Friday, March 18, 5:30 – 10:00 pm
Please join us on Friday, March 18 from 5:30-10pm for "Do the Right Thing: Peter Seay, Kevin McCoy and Friends." Using printmaking as a springboard, Seay and McCoy borrow imagery from hip-hop, street, and skateboard culture, blurring the line between mocking and celebrating popular visual references. "Do the Right Thing" will also feature prints by Sleepy Kitty and music by 18andCounting.
"Do the Right Thing" helps kickoff the Friday Evening Events on Cherokee Street, sponsored by the SGCI Conference. SGCI is the largest print organization in North America, and its conference is the largest annual gathering focused on printmaking. For more information about this exhibition, please see the press release attached and below.
