Join us this month for the opening of our new exhibition, Dreamscapes, and for the beginning of the Dreamscapes Concert Series.

Dreamscapes: February 11 - August 13, 2011

Dreamscapes on Friday, February 11, 5-9pm. Admission is free. Refreshments will be served.

Dreamscapes incites questions about the act of dreaming–a succession of thoughts, images, sounds or emotions that the mind experiences during sleep. The artworks on view and their juxtaposition with Tadao Ando's architecture offer new ways to think about the content and purpose of dreams on numerous levels: physiological, psychological, cultural and spiritual.

The thirty-five works in this exhibition reflect a wide range of dreamlike settings or scenarios. Included are paintings by René Magritte, Joan Miró, Max Ernst and Philip Guston, along with contemporary works by Katharina Fritsch, Do Ho Suh, Kiki Smith, Janet Cardiff and others.

Throughout the exhibition, we will offer a series of special programs every Saturday at 1pm. On Saturday, February 12, senior curator Francesca Herndon-Consagra will lead a tour of Dreamscapes.
