The Philip Slein Gallery is pleased to present Off the Grid, an exhibition by New York artist John Zinsser. The Brooklyn-based painter received his BA in American Studies and Art History from Yale University.  A veteran of more than 30 solo shows in the United States and Europe, Zinsser explores the most fundamental elements of abstraction: color, ground, space, and gesture. While Zinsser's work acknowledges a universal underlying grid, his current exhibition undermines its rigidity and going “Off the Grid.” In this new group of powerfully expressive paintings Zinsser dares us to join him in a state of pure expression and love of paint.
