Explore St. Louis' Succession of Cultures in our Contemporary World through Mound City,
April 11 - August 24, 2014
Public Reception: Friday, April 11, 6-9 pm
The artists in Mound City seek traces of Native culture in the contemporary world, and use the two monuments that most exemplify the irresolution of our past-the Missisippean mounds and the Gateway Arch-as primary points of exploration for new ways to understand our present history through our past.
PERFORMANCE: A TRIBE CALLED RED
Friday, April 11, 7:30PM, The Way Field
Ottowa-based DJ trio A Tribe Called Red opens the exhibition with a free performance in the Park. They said, "To Native youth everywhere... this moment right now is proof that whatever goals you strive for in life, they're completely attainable so strive high."
