Green Door art gallery: Friday, 9 May 2014
“A Taste of Greece” will be one of the exhibits being shown at the reception, May 9, from 5-9 pm. Featuring the photography of Cheryl Dorris, along with with foods that are traditional in the Aegean region, all to help you experience the feeling of traveling to Greece without leaving Webster Groves, Missouri. Exhibit runs thru June 28, 2014.
Cheryl Dorris has only been to Greece twice. The first time was only briefly, but she instantly fell in love with the people and the way of life; the color and sheer beauty of the islands. In addition to Athens, she visited and photographed a few islands, but her favorite is Santorini. The second 10 day trip to Greece was spent almost wholly on that island alone. She stayed in Oia Village, at the tip of the island. For those who have been there, the crisp blues and whitewashed buildings are unmistakable, and are quintessential Greece. She relished in photographing not only the sunsets, but the cafes and alleyways, the distinctive architecture, the small details and vibrant colors of this enchanting land.
Del Dace will be exhibiting his pen and ink drawings and watercolor paintings of his travels and places that have inspired him and some designs from his murals.
Our two guest jewelers are, Allison L. Norfleet Bruenger, whose main focus is in nature and the beauty of the female image and Nancy Koehler, with her fine silver, coral, shells and more.
Hours are Wednesday thru Sunday 10:00 am to 5:00 pm- Closed Monday and Tuesday
