Gallery Visio: Wednesday, 6 March 2013

Dream Blisters
March 6-April 10, 2013
Opening Reception March 6, 4-7pm

Please join us at Gallery Visio on March 6th for the opening of Dream Blisters, a solo exhibit by Robert Treece. Treece possesses the ability to capture the viewer’s attention with his immense detail, vibrant colors, multi-layered textures and compositions. He simultaneously shifts between realism and surrealism, allowing each style influencing the other. “Over the years I have found that one style painting will inform the other, realism helps my focus with color mixing, paint handling, patience, etc. and surrealism teaches me to focus on composition, color arrangement, terror management etc.” For Treece, the concepts inspiring his realist work appears almost instantly, contrasting with his surrealist paintings; these concepts are undetermined, and allowing the painting to evolve on its own.
He creates beauty from the unknown, and the undetermined. This balance between such contrasting styles offers a unique and broad spectrum of work, leaving the viewer to question the difference between dream and reality.

“I saw and see fear and discomfort as being far more beneficial to the creative process than comfort and encouragement. Shake it up as hard as you can and see what falls out.”
