A Three Day Event During Pride Weekend at Aisle 1 Gallery


Opening Reception Thursday, June 21, 2012, 7 – 10 pm
Music, bites and other surprises will make this evening a Pride Weekend to remember. This is a full glitz event, costumes are encouraged, and for a small donation, make-up artist, HErARTbyASHLi*, will be ready to glam your look on the spot.

In Sara Swaty's ongoing social photographic documentary, she explores the different perceptions of gender and how it relates to sexuality. Through photographing numerous subjects who perceive gender in a different way, Sara has discovered countless gender identities and the impact society has on the perceptions of gender and sex. This project raises questions that are rarely addressed, and gives context to each individual’s experience, showing how vast the concept of gender is.
