Craft Alliance Delmar Loop: Friday, 22 June 2012

Craft Alliance (CA) is pleased to announce the opening reception of Emerging Artists: Works from the Studios, juried by Laurie Blaes, from 6 – 8 pm on Friday, June 22 at CA’s Delmar Loop Gallery. The biennial exhibition, which runs through August 12, features work by the community of working artists who keep our studios alive with creativity. CA believes in celebrating those individuals who continue to explore arts education.

The exhibition showcases work that has been created by members of CA’s extensive adult education classes over the past two years. Works from both CA’s Delmar Loop and Grand Center locations are represented, including the state of the art woodturning studio at Grand Center. CA will also be exhibiting several pieces from an exciting new series of fashion classes! Six category awards, one for wood, clay, glass, metal, fiber, and teen, will be announced at the opening reception on June 22 at 7pm.

Opening concurrently in the Charak Gallery is Teresa Paschke: Innovation and Tradition. Paschke, a fiber artist, presents a body of work based on her travels through Prague, documenting Prague’s textiles, architecture and impressive array of graffiti. Her work combines the richness of photography with the subtleties of traditional textile techniques.
