WORK BY DEANN RUBIN & BETTY SHEW
The September exhibit in THE GALLERY of the University City Public Library (6701 Delmar Blvd, 63130) entitled “It Figures” features handwoven tapestry by Deann Rubin and cast paper by Betty Shew as part of Innovations in Textiles 2011. An opening reception will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2011, 6 – 8 pm in THE GALLERY. The work is on display September 2 - 29 and may be viewed during normal library hours, Monday – Friday, 9 am – 9 pm; Saturday, 9 am – 5 pm; and Sunday, 1 -5 pm. Informal demonstrations by the artists will be held in the gallery throughout the month. Innovations in Textiles is a biennial collaborative event investigating the state of contemporary textile arts. More than 20 arts organizations across the St. Louis region join forces to present exhibits related to fiber art created by local, national, and international artists.
