SIUE Textile Arts Alumni Exhibition
An Innovations in Textiles 9 Exhibition
Curated by Laura Strand

These Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Fine Arts or Master of Fine Arts degree alumni continue to make significant contributions to the art world through their artwork. The work includes many garments ranging from high fashion to performance to visual object. The artworks include intricate weavings, printed and stitched textiles, felted, hand-painted and dyed textiles, papermaking and folding among their many examples of technical expertise. More importantly, these object communicate the ideas that brought them into being. From contemplative to hilarious the objects speak for their makers.

Please join us at the opening, or see them as part of a journey to or from the university any Monday – Friday from 10-4 at Edwardsville Art Center. The Center has reopened in a new exciting space on the east side of Edwardsville High School. Located at Center Grove Road and Hwy 157, the site has good parking a specified entrance with a large red name banner on the buildings corner.

This exhibition is in collaboration with Innovations in Textiles 9. INNOVATIONS: A Biennial Textile Event 2011 A biennial collaborative event investigating the state of contemporary textile arts More than 20 arts organizations across the St. Louis region join forces to present exhibits related to fiber art, created by local, national and international artists.
