Concrete Ocean Art Gallery: Friday, 5 November 2010
KNOT WHAT YOU THINK, Oct. 8 - Nov. 5, closing reception Nov. 5, 2010, 7-11 pm.
Concrete Ocean Art Gallery celebrates the recent artistic endeavors of Connie and Paul LaFlam.
Connie's photography never fails to radiate elegance, beauty and sensuality with her captures of the classic Nude. Now adding fuel to the creative fire, igniting an inferno of sexuality, she seduces the viewer with that beauty. Then quietly confronts them with the discomfiting reality that they have entered a world of fetishes, Shibari and the erotic.
Paul LaFlam creates large scale, fluid, one shot expressionist paintings that continue to inch their way to becoming a conquering force that demands surrender from even the largest expanse of wall. Here 3 by 4 feet is the new Small with larger paintings expanding to 4 by 7 feet. Paintings range from festively colored still lifes, gardens of exploding color, and ending with minimalist monochromes emphasizing nature.
