GRAFICA FINE ART SHOWS MALERICH’S LIFE IN STITCHES
This isn’t your Grandma’s embroidery!
Grafica Fine Art announces a showing of the dramatic and very personal embroidery art of Lee Malerich. Melerich’s works are dazzling and intricate – the brilliant colors and complex shapes entwined within each image draw the eye and hold it; but, Lee’s representational works depict slices of her life and lay bare complicated emotions.
Each image is small (approximately 5” x 5”) but the impact is big. Even a casual observer is
drawn into a story that seems to hold more questions than answers. Some concepts are black
and white (a common theme in Malerich’s work) – most are variegated and often vivid.
Two non-representational works are included. In these works, Malerich uses the texture of
carefully chosen and placed fabrics to complement her incredibly precise stitches.
