Westrich Photographic Gallery: Wednesday, 24 June 2009

Two premieres on June 24: the Westrich Photograph Gallery and The Raptor Series – a limited edition series by Rob Westrich

After 25 years with the family business Rob Westrich has focused his camera lens in a new direction with the opening of a fine art photography gallery and the premiere of The Raptor Series - his fine art black and white photographic portrait study of birds of prey.

The grand opening of the Westrich Photographic Gallery will be June 24, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. The event not only will be the premiere of Rob Westrich’s newest venture – a fine art photography gallery on the second floor of his portrait studio location – but also a public showing of the St. Louis photographer’s first foray into fine art photography with The Raptor Series.

Over several months Westrich photographed numerous birds from the World Bird Sanctuary in West St. Louis County at his studio in Clayton. The limited series features unique black and white photography of eagles, owls, hawks, falcons and more.

Some of the World Bird Sanctuary birds featured in The Raptor Series will be on live display at the Westrich Photographic Gallery grand opening June 24. The grand opening is free and open to the public. Westrich will donate a portion of sales that evening to the World Bird Sanctuary.

Beginning June 25, the public hours for the Westrich Photographic Gallery will be Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., as well as by appointment.
