The Nu-Art Series is proud to present as part of our ongoing series "Jazz and the Visual Arts" a three part visual art/spoken word/music program. The accompanying attachments are announcements for the program.
An exhibition of Photographs and Paintings by St. Louis artists ADELIA PARKER, and JAMES SEITU SMITH, Friday, April 3, 2009. The exhibition will be from April 3 until May 15, 2009. The opening reception is from 6pm - 9pm, Friday, April 3.
"Dangling Participles and Shady Syllables", a spoken word performance by noted author and playwright NTOZAKE SHANGE , Saturday, April 4, from 3pm - 6pm. MS. SHANGE will present a spoken word performance with musical accompaniment by HAMIET BLUIETT, baritone saxophone, and DR. LONDON BRANCH, piano and trumpet. The program will be opened by the young musical group JBMG, the grandchildren of Fontella Bass and Lester Bowie. Admission for the Saturday, April 4 program is $20.00
