Square Foot Show & Digital Rotation
Artists’ Reception January 16, 2009 7:00pm-11:00pm
Exhibit continues through January 31 during gallery hours, Thurs-Sat, noon-4pm
The artists’ reception will feature music, live art, culinary delights from local restaurants including Maggiano’s and live poetry readings.
Main Gallery: “Square Foot Show”
Exhibit Director: Christopher Arnold
This exhibit is a non-juried exhibit of over 125 works by over 65 artists including several artists from outside of Missouri. Several media are represented including paintings, photography and fiber art. The limitation in size has definitely not limited the creativity of the artists. It is an artistic sampling of great proportions.
Flax Gallery, accelerating women in the arts: “Digital Rotation”

“Digital Rotation is a display of artwork on a series of screens featuring 19 female artists and over 250 images of their work. This show is unique because it is completely virtual, utilizing 10 LCD screens throughout the gallery space. This digital platform creates a cohesive environment where art meets technology with a big impact. Gallery visitors can look up information on pieces that strike their interest in an accompanying booklet. As the Flax Gallery director I look forward to developing this show on a yearly basis and watching it grow into a database of artwork by local St. Louis women.”
