Open Lot: Friday, 9 November 2007

We'll Talk More Later
A collaboration with Greg Edmondson

Opening reception: Friday, November 9, 7:00 – 11:00 pm

About four months ago Greg Edmondson purchased 5 pounds of super phos, a phosphorescent powder, to use on sculptures for the Collective installation at the Sheldon Galleries. Two pounds remained of the substance and Jonathon Lisenby, of Open Lot, invited Edmondson to mount an exhibition of work which would also glow in the dark. But Edmondson, however, was more interested in how other artists would work with the substance.

I thought it would make more sense to get everyone involved in the space involved in the show; and see where a handful of artists would go if they all used the same material,” said Edmondson.

B.J. Vogt, Emily Hemeyer, Turner Williams, Jordan Hicks, Angela Malthionno, and even Jonathon Liseby, himself incorporated super phos into their artwork. The results will be view Friday, November 9 at the inauguration of Open Lot.
