Visages
Art for AIDS Exhibition and Fundraiser
November 8th to November 29th
Opening Reception: Thursday November 8th, 4-7 pm
Gallery Visio is pleased to present Visages featuring artists Christopher Schulte and Jerry Breakstone. You are invited to experience the sculptural beauty, the rich complexity and the amazing diversity of ceramic representations of the human (and occasionally not so human) face. Schulte and Breakstone have delicately sculpted well-known facial imagery intended to reintroduce the humane practice of eye contact, and face-to-face communication in the technical world of emails and cell phones. This exhibition was designed to encourage people to re-experience looking at faces.
Proceeds from both artists will go to sponsor Project ARK/Camp Hope, a weekend long respite camp for children living with HIV and their families in the St. Louis area.
The balance of Christopher Schulte's proceeds will go to the Will Flores Fund. The Will Flores Fund is dedicated to aiding and creating art, mentoring, and yoga programs for children and persons living with disabilities. The Flores Fund is also a major contributor to AIDS/HIV organizations.
