JACOBY ARTS CENTER’S THIRD ANNUAL JURIED ART EXHIBITION & OPENING RECEPTION
All are invited to the Opening Reception of the Jacoby Arts Center’s Third Annual Juried Exhibition, Friday, June 22, 2007 from 5-8 pm, 627 East Broadway in Alton. The awards presentation of three cash prizes and three Awards of Excellence by Juror Bob Huber will take place at 6:30 pm. All six artists will be invited to exhibit in the January 2008 Awards of Excellence exhibit. The opening reception and exhibit are free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served at the opening reception, with a wine tasting provided by Mary Michelle Winery.
The exhibit will run from June 22 through July 29. Gallery hours are Tuesday-Saturday, 10 am-5 pm, Sunday, noon-4 pm, and closed Monday.
Artists selected include Jerie Artz, Jim Balmer, Rebecca Barton, Laura Blair, Laverne Brink, George Cooke, John DenHouter, Dennis DeToye, Amanda Lea Dickson, Roberta Elliott, Jessica Erickson, Glenn Felch, Jane Floyd-Hendey, Sarah Frost, Kathy Gomric, Martha Iler, Chris Kassak, Ruth Kolker, Joseph Langley, Joshua Laughlin, Michael E. Mason, Judith McLaughlin, Barbara Merlotti, Dave Merritt, Kate Morgan, Samuel Preston, Doris Roberts, Damia Smith, David P. Stine, Gene Ursprung, Jeff Vaughn and David M. Yates. Juror Bob Huber is the Program Chair in Fine Art at Blackburn College. Mr. Huber teaches Drawing, Painting, Sculpture, and Ceramics, and is the gallery director for three campus spaces. Most of the art will be for sale.
