Gallery Visio: Friday, 29 June 2007

"Books or Your Friends" will feature recent work by husband and wife duo Matt and Sharlene Kindt. The Kindts work in the mediums of charcoal, watercolor, oil and collage.

Matt's work includes portrayals of fictional characters from literature, while Sharlene's work focuses on a series of non-fiction portraits of important figures in her life. The combined subtext of the Kindts' work is meant to explore the relationship between the duo as artists and a couple. The Kindts' sketchbooks, photographs and other items also will be on display to give a unique behind-the-scenes perspective on their creative process.

A reception for the artists will be from 4 to 7 p.m. June 29 at the gallery. Light refreshments will be served. Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays; 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesdays; and 1 to 5 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. On view June 28 through July 27.
