Mad Art: Friday, 1 June 2007
June 1 to June 30 at Mad Art Gallery
Opening reception June 1, 7 pm to 11 pm
"An Aerial Landscape" new paintings by Julie Malone and
"Sometimes You Just Know" photographs by Justin Visnesky
Julie's paintings are inspired by views and reactions to our environment. Combining color, expression, and structure, Julie expresses spontaneous reactions to common events experienced in our culture. She transforms these experiences into abstractions viewed from her own created aerial perspective.
Justin Visnesky grew up in a village in Pennsylvania, went to college in Jimmy Stewart's hometown of Indiana, Pennsylvania, and now lives kind of close to the Arch in St. Louis, Missouri. He makes photographs of the simple, quiet times in life; taking the ordinary and making it something more, something for the keeping.
