Framations Art Gallery presents Geometric by Design
Opening Reception on Friday, March 17 from 6-8 pm
Through April 20, 2017
When studying the elements of art, you learn of line, shape, form, color, texture and space. When it comes to shapes, then tend to be either geometric or organic in nature. Geometric shapes refer to those that are more orderly and rely on fundamental designs such as circles, squares, rectangles, triangles, lines, etc. In a new exhibit entitled Geometric by Design, Framations Art Gallery asked artists to explore the use of geometric shapes in their work.
With an otherwise open theme as pertaining to subject matter and media, artists from the St. Louis region were challenged to find the influences of geometry in their work, be it either realistic or abstract in design.
The public is invited to view the artwork on display and to vote for People's Choice in this exhibit when they visit. The voting continues through the full length of the exhibit, ending on April 20, 2017. This exhibit was juried by Melissa Whitwam, the Executive director of the Foundry Art Centre.
