Framations Art Gallery: Friday, 24 July 2015

Exhibit examines the theme "Passage of Time"

James Taylor once sang "The secret of life is enjoying the passage of time." In a new exhibit at Framations Art Gallery, artists explore the theme in various media.  Perhaps the focus is on the age of a person, a dilapidated home or other aged structure, a plant past its prime, abandoned objects, etc. Art is in the eye of the beholder, and times passes differently for each of us. This exhibit will begin with an Opening Reception Friday, July 24 from 6-8pm and will continue through August 27. The Opening reception is free and open to the public. During the full length of the exhibit, the public will be able to vote for People's Choice. The winner of People's Choice will be on display for an additional 5 weeks after the close of this exhibit.

Running concurrently in Gallery Two will be an exhibit of nature photography by David K. Gleeson, Sr. called "Not Just Knots".  In the artist's words, this photography "offers a unique look at some of the amazing shapes that have been etched into the woods and waters of Missouri by the natural elements of wind, rain, and fire." Gleeson finds images in nature, such as faces and animals, images "so detailed that they appear to have been chiseled into the landscape by the hand of an artist." Gleeson's photography will also begin with an Opening on July 24 and continue to be on display through August 27. More information about both exhibits can be found at www.framations.com.
