Greg Edmondson's studio practice frequently employs the use of simple generative systems. These systems are computational by definition and imply a level of predictability.  However, their application produces both foreseeable, and unforeseen results with the potential for mutation, decay and collapse inherent within the system, and it's means of implementation. These works are produced largely by hand, employing a pre-industrial and decidedly imperfect production process.

Repetition, sequence and dispersal have always been the primary means by which information (both biological and technological) is stored and transmitted. These works are fundamentally less about the transmission of specific meaning than the transmission of specific visual information.

Their digital sensibility and hand drawn execution creates a hybrid aesthetic;brimming with information, begging for interpretation.
