We invite you to join us in the Gallery to mingle, enjoy excellent artwork and meet the 37 featured art students whose works are on view in the exhibit.
Our 17th annual "Varsity Art" exhibition features 63 artworks in all media by 37 undergrad & grad level art students representing 19 area colleges & universities from Missouri and Illinois.
Each year, Art Saint Louis' Artistic Director Robin Hirsch works with the art professors and faculty from the participating colleges & universities and invites them to select one or two of their outstanding art students who are making the strongest, most challenging, interesting artworks. The instructors work with their students, curate the artworks to be exhibited, prepare them for the show, and then those student artists are featured in this annual exhibition. Designed as an educational experience, participating students assist with several aspects of the exhibition, including exhibit installation, opening reception and our Meet the Artist Saturdays.
The media featured in this year's show includes drawing, ceramics, iron work, jewelry/metalsmithing, mixed media, painting, digital & analog photography, printmaking, textiles, video, and more.
