Aisle 1 Gallery, St. Louis Arts Project and The Screwed Arts Collective Presents "The Clean Up" on Saturday, December 10
For the first time three art organizations will come together to present The Clean Up, which will primarily feature artwork from the Screwed Arts Collective at Aisle 1 Gallery and two new ventures from St. Louis Arts Project. The night will be a cross between a gallery reception and party as visual art at Aisle 1 and from St. Louis Arts Project gets paired with a diverse line-up of live music from Scripts N Screwz, 18andCounting, DJ Mahf, US English, Bace Monk and a DJ set from So Many Dynamos.
Starting at 7:00 PM, Aisle 1 Gallery (2627 Cherokee) will host the opening reception for The Clean Up, a show featuring work from St. Louis' own Screwed Arts Collective and other city artists. Those artists showing work in the show include: Ruben Aguirre, Daniel Burnett, Jenn Carter, Stan Chisholm, Daniel Gaeng, Daniel Jefferson, Ben Pierce, Joey Potts, REVISE CMW, Chris Sabatino ,Jason Spencer, Danielle Spradley, Joy Tiyasirichokchai, Justin Tolentino, Amy VanDonsel, Bryan Walsh and Peat Wollaeger. DJ Mahf, 18andCounting and Bace Monk will be spinning throughout the event. To learn more about the individual artists and opening reception please click here. St. Louis Arts Project (SLAP) will debut two new ventures that night - Iconoclash and the SLAP Artist Store. Iconoclash is a new artist series presented by SLAP that pairs together two artists to create an interactive art installation for one night only. To kickoff the series, Damon Davis (Scripts N Screwz, Civil Ape) and Skip Jones (Made Monarchs) will work together to make a sound installation that creates music based off participants' specific physical actions and brain activity. A short documentary on the making of the installation will also be showing. The Iconoclash installation will be open at The Bomb Door from 7:00 PM - 9:30 PM.
The second debut of the night from SLAP will be the Artist Store which features SLAP member's work - from music to clothes to posters - available for sale. There will be a pop-up shop on site for one night only with work from WORK/PLAY, Civil Ape, Made Monarchs, Emily Heymeyer and The Luminary Center for the Arts plus a limited edition SLAP poster. The following day the SLAP Artist Store will be make its debut online at www. stlartproject.org.
Along with the SLAP Artist Store and Iconoclash series, there will be live music at The Bomb Door starting at 9:30 PM. The line-up is exclusively made up of SLAP members and includes Scripts N Screwz, US English and a DJ set from Aaron and Norm of So Many Dynamos.
