Framations: Friday, 29 July 2011

On June 1, 2006, Framations expanded their framing business to their location on Main Street in St. Charles. This location added a new feature - room for an art gallery and a way of incorporating local artists into their shop. Now it is five years later and Framations will celebrate their anniversary at their next opening reception on July 29 from 6-8 pm. As a thank you to their customers, the first 25 people to arrive at the reception starting at 6pm will receive a $10 Gift Certificate. And as always, the opening reception is free and open to the public.

The Main Gallery will feature works by Pat Bistline and Linda Wilmes. Pat Bistline's exhibit, Everything and Anything, promises to display her range of work, which includes landscapes, people, wildlife, as well as traditional still life. Painting in oil, she has studied both nationally and internationally and feels "I can give back through the imagery that comes from my hands and spirit. " In a retrospective exhibit called Then and Now, Linda Wilmes will display a sampling of work spanning several decades. As Linda's work has evolved, she has explored her talents in watercolors, oil, acrylic, pastels, as well as in pencil. These two exhibits will be featured in the Main Gallery and will continue through September 1, 2011.

Also on display at Framations from July 29 - September 1 will be an exhibit combining the works of Ken Farris and Lisa Thomas, who are both artists and cousins. Lisa, working primarily in colored pencil, focuses in on the details of images and draws the viewer in to experience them up close. Ken works in a variety of media including watercolor, acrylic and oil. Fascinated by nature, Ken often reminisces on past travels through his paintings.

Hours: Tues - Sat 10-6, Sun 12-5, Closed Mondays.
