Jacoby Arts Center: Friday, 11 March 2011
The Jacoby Arts Center presents Mark Makers, an exhibition of drawing and painting by 18 regional artists, in the JAC Gallery from March 8 through April 10, 2011. An opening reception will be held Fri, March 11, 5 p.m. – 8 p.m.
The public is invited to attend the reception and visit the gallery during the Mark Makers exhibit both of which are free. 10 Master Draftsmen: from Leonardo to Giacometti, a free slide lecture by Ann Davidson will take place on Wed, March 23, at 7 p.m. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. The gallery is closed Sunday and Monday.
Mark Makers will feature drawings and paintings that emphasize the gestural quality of mark making and expressive use of line thereby showing the hand of the artist. Artists included in the exhibit are Peter Ahart, Rebecca Eilering, Louis Giberson, Kathy Comric, Aaron Heil, Richard Hutton, Lauren Leohner, Robert Maguire, Christy O’Brien, Derek Pfeffer, Roxxanne Reed, Kathryn E. Roberts, Kristen Serafini, Jeremy Shipley, Chris Spangler, Daniel Stumeier, Jennifer Toje and Patricia L. Vinyard.
