“Visionary Arts of Haiti,” a three week exhibit of Haitian art which includes steel sculptures, flags, primitive paintings and masks, will open with a reception on Friday evening, November 19, 2010, at the Old North, 2700 North 14th Street in St. Louis that begins at 6:30 p.m. The Exhibit is curated by Laurie Beasley of Ridge Art Gallery, Chicago, Illinois, and is sponsored by the Missouri Immigrant & Refugee Advocates.
The Exhibition is free to the public. Laurie Beasley will deliver a Gallery Talk on Saturday, November 20 at 1:30 p.m. The public is invited to come and shop early for the holidays. Other immigrant rights events will be held in the same locale, which has been donated by the Old North Restoration Group, over the three weeks of the exhibition.
