S. Carmody Photography presents POP IS PERSONAL, a solo show of collected works by photographer Joseph Cultice. The show represents a cross-section of his career, from celebrity portraits, to Marilyn Manson's Mechanical Animals that was selected by VH-1's Greatest Album Covers to the cover for the 2008 Jonas Brothers' A Little Bit Longer.
Cultice got his first big break in the early 90's when he bonded with Nine Inch Nails members over similar aesthetics and Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. Since then he has developed a clientele that is a Who's Who in pop music. His artistry has attracted world-class clients including Shakira, Sting, Snoop Dogg, Justin Timberlake, Jason Derulo, Macy Gray, Patti Smith, Beck, Elvis Costello and Ozzy Ozzbourne to name a few. Works on display to include the Jonas Brothers, Ozzy Ozzbourne, Marilyn Manson, Bjork, Beck, the Chemical Brothers, Korn, Gary Numan, Stereolab, and Tricky.
As a regular contributor to Vogue, Entertainment Weekly, and TV Guide, Cultice has also made his mark in celebrity portraiture. Celebs such as Chloe Sevigny, Tyra Banks, Mary Louise Parker, The Sopranos cast, Jennifer Connelly, Donald Sutherland and William H. Macy have posed before Cultice's lens. Cultice is also an accomplished video director with a best-selling full-length video release feature under his belt, Marilyn Manson's documentary Dead to the World. He is now working on the full-length feature, Bastions of Immaturity, the Meat Puppet's Story.
