African World Festival

Opening Night: Friday, July 16 from 6:30 to 9pm

Colors of Afrika Art Exhibit: Monday through Friday, from 10am to 4pm
In collaboration with several academic and working experts in African art and cultures, Belas Artes is proud to host the 2010 African World Festival and Colors of Afrika Art Exhibit. The Festival will consist of films and award winning documentaries, music, dance, lectures, informal talks and workshops. Some events include: a presentation by Princess Ezenwa Okenwa of Nigeria, dance by Afriky Lolo, a demonstration by Mandingo Tie-Dye artist Mahmoud Conteh from Sierra Leone, and award-winning film Music By Prudence. The opening reception is Friday, July 16 and will conclude with the revealing of the Colors of Afrika Art Exhibit and FREE appetizers from African restaurants such as Tam Tam African Restaurant and African Palace. The exhibit remains open through July 31, Monday through Friday 10am-4pm.
