Chesterfield Arts: Friday, 18 June 2010

Chesterfield Arts will feature Dawson Morgan in Illuminated Forms this June 18 through August 14. Morgan’s one-of-a-kind ceramic works focus on the interplay of light and shadow on luminescent, organic forms. From large bowls to votives and more sculptural pieces, her soft white glazes contrast with smoked works completed in a pit-fire process.

See the exhibit and meet the artist at the FREE opening reception on Friday, June 18 from 6 to 9pm at Chesterfield Arts. (exhibit runs through August 14)

“I have a great appreciation for beauty found in natural color and texture, and I relish the nuances that add depth and interest to my work,” states Morgan. This appreciation translates into an emphasis on form with inspiration from the everyday surroundings of Missouri’s rivers, farms and vineyards. Morgan even incorporates natural leaves, twigs and other materials into some of her pottery.
