Bruce Burton: Observation and Formulation

Observation and Formulation is a body of work that consists of images, sculpture, and installation, of seemingly unrelated and idiosyncratic materials and discarded artifacts. On the surface the objects and images seem to be disconnected, but upon closer examination, a thread reveals itself through formal and conceptual connections. A social environment begins to appear between the objects, images, and viewer. I am interested in these relationships that are formed by the viewer's response to an object and its collective, triggered memories, and perceived associations of the individual.
