Art Saint Louis presents two new exhibits, “Out Of The Blue” and “Homage to the Founders, Edition 1: Nancy Newman Rice,” on view in the Art Saint Louis Gallery at 555 Washington Avenue, Suite 150 from May 18-June 25, 2009.

The shows open with a free public reception on Saturday, May 16, 2009 from 6-8 p.m. The Gallery is FREE & open to the public Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Closed Sundays & holidays. Groups & tours welcome.

“Out Of The Blue” is a juried exhibit that was open to artists 21+ residing in the St. Louis area & 200-mile radius. For this exhibition, artists were asked to submit artworks in all media & styles that “investigate blue--the color, emotions, symbols, associations and/or sudden revelations. Blue paint, blue skies, Little Boy Blue, out of the blue, the blues, bluebird of happiness, blue planet.” All interpretations of the theme were invited.

Serving as jurors for “Out Of The Blue” were Michael Byron, and Douglass Freed.
