WHITE FLAG PROJECTS presents STEVE POWERS/2 Fists of Iron and a Bottle of Beer
NEXT SATURDAY NIGHT, APRIL 25, 7-10 PM
Steve Powers is an artist whose distinctly graphic style, sharp wit, and sensitivity to vernacular language have placed him among the leading artists to emerge from the graffiti and street-art subculture over the past decade.
For 2 Fists of Iron and a Bottle of Beer Steve Powers plans to combine an installation of his paintings with the environment of a drive-through wedding chapel and a custom car graphics shop. Leading up to the exhibition Powers will apply his cut-vinyl slogans and narratives to volunteers' automobiles in a makeshift workshop within the gallery.
Working alongside Powers for his White Flag Projects exhibition will be legendary cartoonist Justin Green.
