Lemp Neighborhood Arts Center: Sunday, 7 September 2008

Artist's reception at the Lemp Neighborhood Arts Center on Sunday, September 7, at 3:00 p.m. There will be hummus. And a performance of extended technique cello from Epicycle. Work on
display now through October 13.

The works range from a large 4' x 5' "action" painting (the image above is a detail from the larger work's little brother) to a series of six 12" x 12" paintings in homage to Josef Albers' "Homage to the Square" series, as well as two "collaborations" with artists whose work I found in dumpsters following Washington University's move-out weekend this summer. Also on display is the dada-inspired work "Join the Army, Travel to Foreign Countries, Meet Interesting People, and Kill Them (Red, White, & Blue)."
