Grafica Fine Art: Friday, 7 November 2008

BOOK SIGNING RECEPTION AT GRAFICA FINE ART
Marilynne Bradley’s “St. Louis in Watercolor: The Architecture of a City”

On Friday, November 7 from 6-9 pm there will be a book signing reception for Marilynne Bradley’s new book "St. Louis in Watercolor: The Architecture of a City." Meet the uthor/artist and view a selection of the watercolors from the book. The art will remain on display through December 6. Our hours are Monday - Friday 10 am-5:30 pm and on Saturday 12 - 4 pm.

The book includes roughly 75 of Marilynne’s watercolor images along with a detailed history of the site depicted. Preservation historian for St. Louis County, Esley Hamilton, has written the Forward to the book – and local historian, Ron Elz (aka “Johnny Rabbit”), contributed the Introduction.

Lynn Bozzay, co-owner of Grafica Fine Art says, “Marilynne is an absolute delight to work with as an artist and a real treasure trove of architectural history for St. Louis and the surrounding areas.” Eagle Bank has used Marilynne Bradley’s art in several of their locations. “We want our branches to feel like a bank and at the same time reflect our commitment to our clients and the local community” says Michael Walsh, President of Eagle Bank. “Marilynne’s work has great energy and life and allows us to select images that will make our clients feel at home with us.” When Eagle Bank was looking for that “local” touch their new Manchester branch, Marilynne knew that the building currently housing Manchester City Hall is on the National Register of Historic Places. That knowledge of history and architecture plus her skill as an artist resulted in a commissioned painting for Eagle Bank – and the citizens of Manchester.
