Craft Alliance: Friday, 7 March 2008

Talk To Me: Voices of Kiln-Formed Glass
Public Opening Reception - Friday, March 7, 6-8pm

March 7 – April 20

Eleven artists from across the globe share their life experiences and personal thoughts through glass art in a new exhibition at Craft Alliance. Talk To Me: Voices of Kiln-Formed Glass, opening March 7 through April 20, showcases work that evokes daily life. Curator Susan Taylor Glasgow, known for her sewn glass, features artists that focus on personal content. “Talk To Me: Voices of Kiln Formed Glass takes possession of the translucent qualities of glass, expressing the content of the work by drawing on life, time, and experience,” states Glasgow.

This exhibition highlights the work of Carole Freve, Montreal, Quebec; Kathleen Holmes, Lake Worth, FL; Michael Janis, Mt. Rainier, MD; Nancy Klimley, Bellingham, WA; Elizabeth Ryland Mears, Fairfax Station, VA; Brenda Page, Victoria, Australia; John Q. Publick, Warrington, PA; Gehard Ribka, Irsee, Germany; Jeffrey R. Sarmiento, United Kingdom; Jude Schlotzhauer, Mechanicsville, VA; Erika Tada, West Henrietta, NY.

Eden Found, the works of Metalsmith John Baltrushunas, opens concurrently in the Charak Gallery at Craft Alliance.
