Water opens this Friday.
Join us as we celebrate the opening of our next exhibition at the Pulitzer. Water opens with a public reception on Friday, July 20th from 6 - 9pm.
This will be your first opportunity to experience the artwork that will be on view, while enjoying refreshments in the Pulitzer courtyard. This installation will engage the prevalence of water in the Pulitzer building by addressing the range of responses that water has elicited from modern and contemporary artists.
Artwork by Max Beckmann, Robert Gober, Roni Horn, Roy Lichtenstein, Richard Long, Henri Matisse, Claes Oldenburg, Richard Tuttle, Cy Twombly and others will be exhibited in relation to the building's prominent watercourt and the space itself, which was conceived as a fluid substance directed by walls. Specific juxtapositions within the exhibition will encourage you to think about the artwork in different and unexpected ways.
