"Material Attraction: Diverse Reactions II", an invitational ceramics exhibition, featuring 38 regional clay artists from the Southern Illinois metro-east and St. Louis area
An exhibition of 38 regional ceramic artists curated by Susan Bostwick, Charity Davis-Woodard and Melody Ellis. This exhibit will run from May 11 - June 17, 2007 with an opening reception on Friday, May 18 from 5 - 8 PM. The exhibition and opening are free and open to the public.
Participating artists include Beverly Aroh, Clinton Berry, John Boss, Felecia Breen, Rhonda Cearlock, Ryan Clyde-Rich, Andrew Denney, Tom Dykas, Kim Fritts, Sunita Garg, Susanne Harmon, Mary Henderson, Renee Heyer-Starrett, Eric Hoefer, Michelle Katz-Reichlin, Dennis Krueger, Jeremy Lampe, Joy Lappin, Claire Montgomery, Becky Luce, Todd May, Dganit Moreno, Chad Nelson, Eric R. Nichols, Judith Papian, Mary Patterson, Peggy Peak, Nila Petty, Becky Posnak, Joan Powell, Joel Price, Kuniko Robeen, Guy Sachs, Mark and Patricia Sheppard, Yael Shomroni, Aimee Smith, Nancy Weck and Barbara Weiss.
The invited artists' techniques, materials, scale and interpretations represent diverse approaches to the material. Included in the exhibition will be mixed media works, figurative and abstract sculpture, functional pots and tile
pieces.
