Framations Art Gallery: Friday, 8 December 2017


Do you know the signs of Alzheimer's? Have a loved one suffering and needing help coping? Need help finding resources? A special art exhibit and presentation on the signs of Alzheimer's may be a great resource for you.

Framations Art Gallery is pleased to present an Art and Awareness exhibit, Memory: Joy and Loss on display December 8, 2017 - January 18, 2018. There will be an opening reception on Friday December 8 from 6-8pm. At 6:15, there will be a special presentation related to the theme of the exhibit. Ted Gillespie, CDP (Certified Dementia Practionitioner), CAC (Certified Alzheimer's Caregiver) is a speaker for the St Louis Alzheimer's Association with 10 years experience in dementia caregiving. He will be speaking on "Knowing the Ten Signs of Alzheimer's", What is the difference between Dementia and Alzheimer's? What's is typical ageing and memory loss? Why is early diagnosis important? Time permitting there will be a Q&A. The reception and presentation are free and open to the public.

The exhibit will feature artwork that will examine both the positives and negatives of memory and its impact on our lives. As part of their Art & Awareness Series, the gallery strives to periodically host exhibits that incorporate awareness in areas that affect our community. For this exhibit, there will be factual and statistical information incorporated into the exhibit.  In doing so, Framations will work with both the Alzheimer's Association and Maturity and Its Muse to share information with visitors and those who visit their website.
