The Cecille R. Hunt Gallery: Friday, 19 February 2016

Opens this Friday February 19 from 6 to 8pm

Vienna-based Slovenian artist Eva Petrić  has wide ranging practice working in photography, video, performance, sound and installation.   Her Webster installation subDUCTion zone poetically looks at geological process and the environmental impact on the human heart, stating: "My lace assemblages from my Hematoma series, made from old recycled, inherited, rejected, treasured, given and bought at flea markets illustrate the skin of the sea and the sky. They appear as the organs of the sea, its coral reef ruptured and hurt, reflecting at the same time the sky with its skin of the ozone layer ruptured and hurting, consequently also our own personal skins of our bodies suffering."

Ms. Petrić will speak about her work at noon in Sverdrup room 123, 8300 Big Bend Blvd. (the building adjacent to the Hunt Gallery.)
