Tenth annual photography exhibit at Framations opens Jan
15
Ten years ago, Framations Custom Framing and Art
Gallery opened on Main Street in St. Charles with the space to exhibit work
by local artists. This of course in addition to offering framing. After a few
months, the gallery owners decided to attempt to host a juried exhibition of
photography. This exhibit, entitled Beyond the Lens, began a tradition for
the gallery that is now in its tenth year. This year marks both ten years for
the exhibit as well as ten years on Main Street in St. Charles.
Beyond the Lens X, will be on display January 15 – February 18, 2016. The Opening Reception will be on Friday, January 15 from 6-8pm. The reception if free and open to the public. Visitors are encouraged to vote for People's Choice after viewing the exhibit. The juror for this exhibit will Dan Younger. Younger is a professional photographer as well as Professor of Art, BFA Coordinator, and Photography area head of the University of Missouri in Saint Louis.
Beyond the Lens X
continues the ever-evolving rotation of juried exhibits at Framations that
offer local artists an opportunity to display and sell their work to the
public. New exhibits open approximately every 6 weeks. Stop in or call
the gallery to be added to the email list for calls for entry. More upcoming
themes include "Depth of Surface" and "Ruin and Revival".
