New Collections of work highlight detailed artwork at Framations Art Gallery
Framations Art Gallery introduces two new exhibits set to open Friday, December 12. The first of these is a juried exhibit of work by regional artists called "Focus on the Details". This exhibit features work where artists have either zoomed in on an area showing great detail or subject matter that has great detail overall. The juror for this exhibit was Terry Suhre, Director of Gallery 210 at UMSL. The exhibit will be on display through January 22, 2015.
The second exhibit opening Friday is entitled "Nests and Nature: Watercolors by Lee Walter". Walter's work often has the visual appearance of a woodblock or other printmaking techniques. She achieves this through a multi-step process of layering glazes of watercolor paint done through a pout technique. the results are a beautiful depth of tones and masked areas. The public is invited to meet Walter and discuss her work at the reception.
The Opening Reception for the two new exhibits will be Friday, December 12 from 6-8pm. This will also be a Holiday Gathering for the artists and customers of the gallery. During this evening, there will also be a special visit by Resident Artist Serena Boschert, who will be on site to personalize her hand painted ceramic ornaments. Examples of each of the artists' work can be found on the gallery website at www.framations.com.
